Metformin is usually taken with a meal.

You should monitor your blood sugar level constantly while using Metformin.

Some doctors recommend taking Vitamin B12 supplements while using Metformin.

Try to take the medication at the same time everyday to avoid missing a dose. If you have missed a dose and it is almost time for the next dose, then skip the missed one and continue with the regular dosage. Alternatively, if you remember immediately, then you may take the missed dose. Never double up to compensate for a missed dose.
