Ventolin belongs to a category of medications called Bronchodilators. It helps muscles in the airways to relax and also improves airflow to the lungs.
Please ask for precise dosage instructions to your healthcare provider.
The inhaler may need to be primed when using for the first time or if you are using it after a period of two weeks. Shake it well and spray 4 times into the air away from your face.
Now breathe out fully and put the mouthpiece into your mouth. Push down on the canister and breathe in at the same time. Hold the breath for at least 10 seconds and now breathe out fully.
If you wish to repeat the inhalation, then wait for at least 1 minute before the second inhalation.
Try to take the medication at the same time everyday to avoid missing a dose. If you have missed a dose and it is almost time for the next dose, then skip the missed one and continue with the regular dosage. Alternatively, if you remember immediately, then you may take the missed dose. Never double up to compensate for a missed dose.
An overdose can be potentially fatal.
Store Ventolin at room temperature in a cool and dark place. Keep away from children and pets.
