Finpecia works by preventing the conversion of testosterone into DHT. This in turn reduces hair fall and hampers the spread of male pattern baldness.




Usage

& Dosage

Finpecia is an antibiotic medication that needs to be taken for a stipulated period of time for it to be effective. Do not discontinue dosage suddenly without speaking to your doctor. Also, do not take the medication for a prolonged time period.



Try to take the medication at the same time everyday to avoid missing a dose. If you have missed a dose and it is almost time for the next dose, then skip the missed one and continue with the regular dosage. Alternatively, if you remember immediately, then you may take the missed dose. Never double up to compensate for a missed dose.




Storage



Store Finpecia at room temperature in a cool and dark place. Keep away from children and pets.


Safety Information/ Warning Precautions
Speak about your medical history to your healthcare provider.
Mention complete and accurate details about existing medical conditions, known allergies to food or drugs, dietary supplements, vitamins, minerals, herbal supplements or OTC medications that you may be using.
Do not use Finpecia if:
You are allergic to any ingredient in it.
You are allergic to other 5 alpha-reductase inhibitors (eg, finasteride)
You are a women
You are pregnant
Maintain caution while using Finpecia if:
You have liver disease
You have prostate cancer
You have narrowing or blockage in the urinary tract
You have problems urinating.
You notice breast lumps, pain, nipple discharge, or other breast changes
You have had an allergic reaction after taking a medicine called Avodart
Maintain caution if you use the following drugs:
Cimetidine
Ciprofloxacin
Diltiazem
Ketoconazole
Ritonavir
Troleandomycin
Verapamil
Please be informed:
Finpecia may cause birth defects in fetuses. So, maintain caution while handling the capsule. The capsule is coated and you will not come in contact with the active ingredient. But if it is broken or crushed, then the active ingredient may get absorbed through the skin. So, if you are a woman and you come in contact with Finpecia, wash the area immediately with soap and water.
Since the active ingredient remains in the blood stream for up to 6 months, blood transfusions are disallowed for this time duration after using Finpecia.
Some men experience a reduced volume of ejaculate and semen after using Finpecia. This is completely normal and does not interfere with the sexual life in anyways.
Finpecia is known to interfere with the results of certain lab tests like prostate-specific antigen (PSA).
Finpecia should only be used by men.

Side Effects
Mild side effects are commonly experienced while using Finpecia. They do not need medical treatment and usually subside on their own. Some examples are breast enlargement and/or tenderness; decreased sex drive; decreased volume of ejaculate; inability to have an erection.
If these side effects become bothersome or do not fade away after a while, then seek medical assistance
Serious side effects that need immediate medical assistance are rare.
Some of them are severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; unusual hoarseness).
Please contact your doctor immediately if you notice any serious side effects.
